I took a friends Spyder F3 around the block yesterday And i liked it. I have been on the Spyder RT's and ST's and they are quite a bit bigger and heavier than the F3. Like my Ryker i can stradle the F3 and stand up flat footed to get off the trike. You can't do that with the others. The F3 semi-auto transmission confused me. The 6 speed trans shift's up manually but downshift's according to your speed. If the price was not almost double to cost of the Ryker i would have bought one instead of the ryker. My dealer said it was $19,800.00 out the door without any extra warranty. They did offer a 3 year factory warranty(1 extra year) if i bought the F3 that day.
I liked the 2seat comfort seating better than my rykers, and the top speed was 115 mph so it cruises at 80 mph easily. The the F3 was a lot quieter than my ryker and it feels just slightly larger than the Ryker. I might see what kind of price i can get on a used F3 next year. That's how much i liked the F3. I still may keep my Ryker because it is a great around town trike.

Good condition low mile Spyders around here are still $12,000 and up. While a Ryker is a 900cc triple, it was never designed as a touring trike. The Spyders are a Sport Touring trike. Its like a Bentley, Porsche and a VW, all are made by VW but totally different class's. VW corp makes Ducati bikes, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda, Mann buss's and trucks, Scania trucks and of course, VW's.

The F3 spider has a lot softer suspension settings than the ryker. I noticed that the F3 does lean slightly when going thru curves but not enough to that its a problem. Meanwhile my Ryker feels like it's stiff as a board. I do see the suspension moving but it's very not enough to be considered smooth. I,too, am considering looking for a used F3 and selling the ryker. My Ryker replacement project trike will be based on a GM automotive 1500 cc FWD engine, 6speed auto trans, and better suspension. Using standard american parts it will be slightly heavier than the ryker but still keep the same overall size. Im building a better Ryker, i hope.
The Ryker has left me disappointed in it's highway driving. As a around town vehicle it's OK, but i still don't particularly like the high rev's even around town(ie-4800 rpm at 45 mph). I didn't expect the noise.
