Hi Gary. Welcome to this new version of the old forum. I think you went by GAZ there too. I like the Facebook page too.
Both this forum and the Facebook page are out there to help people with the ideas and tips on building a Reverse trike. They should not be viewed as competition. About 2 months ago someone over on the FB page said something about hating Forums and that we were a bunch of self opinionated "A" holes. I was sorry to hear that but I let it go as it was THEIR opinion.
Proboards.com will not let us copy and paste members builds from the old forum to here.

Hi Dave,
It was me that said some folk on the biker forums were self opinionated A holes. I was referring to some of the 'biker' forums where being a 'triker' gets you a lot of abuse including being told that because I need a trike because of disability I was no longer a 'biker'.
Much of the abuse came from people that couldn't build an airfix kit let alone design, build and register a one off vehicle. I never got that sort of attitude on the old Reverse trike proboard forum and I don't expect to see it here because of the nature of the community. I've had abuse off folk who think customising is 'painting' something matt black or bolting a load of catalogue bits together is bike building.
I've always been of the opinion that if you can't do better yourself you shouldn't really be criticizing someone's work. The only time I've ever been critical of anyone's build or work is if I see something I know may be dangerous or will cause the vehicle to fail regulatory inspections. I also offer it as advice and not criticism.
I agree that posts are harder to find on FB and that forums are the place to follow a build in full. I do however think that an individual build page on FB like the one I have is easier to share images on as opposed to having to upload to a cloud and then link to a forum. I know bandwidth and file sizes mean that forums are somewhat restricted unless you have a paying membership to pay for extra space for images.
As I said, I found the old page a useful tool despite not being an active member with regular posts. I expect I may occasionally link to my FB build page so folk can have a look at what I'm doing or occasionally ask a question or two.
I agree with you that it's not a competition, I think that some folk prefer a forum and it's layout and some enjoy the instant interaction of a FB group. Horses for courses as they say.

Thanks for the information on putting together a personal design and build page on Facebook where pictures can be displayed easily with text and possibly videos as well on Youtube.
