So, we have a manufacturer that wants to sell me a electric reverse trike for $10,000. Hey, i wonder if it will sell as well as my Ryker does. So here's the 3 different models of the Sway trike. I wonder if the mag wheel version sells for 12,000? Maybe the silver painted on you can buy for only 11,000. Naa, i'll keep my Ryker.

James, is there a web page so I can check the spec's?
I can get a laced in a 2.5x18 inch wheel 15kw Hub motor that uses 110 V DC and comes with a controller for about $4500. But enough lithumn batteries to get me the volts and Kwh's needed will set me back another $4500. Then a chassis and other stuff. Easy to spend $10,000. Just depends on what the end results are.

OK, for that price its not worth it. Up to 40 miles at 30 MPH is not enough to safely travel even in my city. Top speed of 55 MPH but no range listed for that speed so I assume its about 10 miles due the the massive amperage draw at speed. Their wording in the spec's say a 6.5 Kw HUB motor but it has an inboard motor and a belt drive to the rear wheel, see their pictures. It is an 6.5 Kw PMAC "AC Permanent Magnet motor", no Regen charging. 72 Volts at 4.5 Kwh is a good start. I'd up grade it to a 84 or 112V DC motor with the same 4.5 Kwh or bigger 10 Kwh battery or another stand alone plug in extending battery pack. And understanding electric motor's that 6.5 Kw is PEAK MAX and not sustained. Sustained would be around 4 Kw. Looks like 12 inch tires, need at least 14's for smoothness. I think I could build that one for a lot less after all setup is done for production. But just a 1 off it would take almost $9,000 to make the first one. Cheaper by the Dozen as in most things. Buy 12 motors, buy 12 battery sets,....
I could buy a few of these and make a tilt front end for a few hundred dollars more each:
It has a bit smaller motor, 3.5Kw Peak and a smaller battery at 1.8 Kwh so an upgrade would be required.

Both range and top speed of the Sway are similar to my newly gotten AYRO 311, even though it is 1,000 lbs. lighter than the AYRO. Plus the Sway is only one person vs. two full size bucket seats in the 311. With that said, the Sway should be a whole lot cheaper than the $8500 I paid for my AYRO.

I have not been researching electric motorcycles much in the last year. I have briefly looked at the AYRO and Acromoto trikes but the price point for an unknown startup is not for me. I tend to let others take the hit on working out the bugs first. Things like a MAJOR failure of a part at 20 miles on the bike is a big turn off for me, sorry. And its only new till you drive it off the dealers lot and its now used and lost a few $1,000 in seconds. I was trying to set up a program with ZERO motorcycles. Every year they come out with a NEW motor or Battery and owners can do an 'UPGRADE'. When ZERO removes the old but still serviceable parts I was wanting to buy them and make ZERO powered trikes.
These trikes I was going to sell "AT COST" to Disabled Veterans. All hand or all foot controls depending on the needs of the Veteran. I am 100% disabled and can not easily own a business and work. For any work paid, Social Security will take $2 of any $3 I make off my monthly check. So if I can do this building of trikes without getting paid then all is good. My time is paid anyway, if I work or not.
I am not rich but I am wealthy. My wealth is in good health, good friends and family, a good home to lay my head down at night and a fair retirement income with good health coverage.

Dave, I've been following Zero motorcycles as well, a couple years ago Campangna Motors worked with them to develope an electric T-Rex. More recently Vanderhall has come out with an electric version of their reverse Trike (The Edison). It appears that Zero motorcycles is currently the Tesla version of motorcycles with regard to advanced technology and dependability. I've seriously considered building a new Reverse Trike from a decent running Zero MC. In the electric vehicle arena light weight is a key factor, it goes back to the premise of why do we need to transport 20 times our weight to get from point A to B. Motorcycles begin to solve this but are of course inherently many times more dangers. Perhaps a crossover vehicle that could be open air but encompass a full roll cage, seatbelt, stability control with possibly a gyro to keep it upright at all times. This vehicle could weigh slightly more than a motorcycle with phenomenal acceleration combined with phenomenal,e-equivalent gas mileage. 👍

Since 2015 I have tried to buy any crashed ZERO from owners. They always want way too much. I worked out a deal for a crashed 2016 SR 14.7 where I would pay what ever his insurance companies "Buy Back' price of $1200, $500 for shipping and another $500 for his time. The seller went ahead and let the insurance company take the bike. He did not get any more than the settlement. It sold at auction for $1800.
