It's a shame the first post in a while has to be a death notice. Rest in peace Mr. Riley.

Back in the 80's I helped weld and wire a Tri-Mag. We ran into a couple issues with the plans so I called the number and Robert answered. It was long distance so he had me give him my number and said he'd call back after he researched the issues. Twenty minuets he rang back and spent 30 minuets walking the builder thru the issues. He then sent the revised plan sheet UPS expidited.
Over the years he has answered questions about the type of foam and what resin to use

Is there any other information about this? I've looked everywhere and nothing. His Facebook page has no official notice, except one person says he heard he died. His LinkedIn page has no notice. His website is down, which is logical, but what about his business and all of the plans that he was selling? Where was that photo above first posted and who is the "we" that have the duty to announce his passing? It's like he just disappeared. Does anyone know more?

Wow thanks for posting that, I haven't spoken with Bob sense 2019 when I showed him a redesign of the TRi-Magnum that I have been working on. He really liked it and said to keep him updated and he mite be able to help me with it later and also ask me what I plan to do with it. At the time I was working on the plug and didn't have any of the chassis. I have been waiting to have more done to show him what I'm capable of.I was hoping he could make a introduction to someone capable of helping me produce this thing. He definitely had an impact on my life, I saw the Tri-Magnum in the first magazine at 18 years old, stole the page out of the Magazine then lost it, then the next year it came out in I think it was Kitcar. I bought the mag and some how came up with the money to buy the plans and five years latter I had my car. Sense then I have never stop working on the Tri-Magnum to the point I did a complete redesign. If any of you would like to see what the car looks like, Google Magnum S6R and a few renderings should popup.(disclaimer) These are not for sale and there are no plans for sale.Just showing what can happen when someone inspires someone else and indirectly mentors them through his lifes work.

Robert and I were friends for over 25 years. We both live in the Phoenix area and we got together many times over the years. The last time I talked to him he wanted to get together again but because of Covid I resisted. He said he had several ailments, but I did not realize how serious they were. I loved his 3 wheelers and he liked mine, so we were engineering brothers, always comparing notes. I'm sad to see him gone. He had many successes, but never the big financial success he always worked for. His concepts of light weight, high mileage vehicle transportation were ripe for the these times of high gas prices and global warming. We lost a great inventor and I lost a great friend. For those not familiar with Ron or his work, just Google as he signed off above and a lot of stuff will come up.

Can and May are two different things!
It seems that a lot of people have decided since Robert Q Riley has passed away that its FREE to make copies of the plans and not pay a licensing fee to his family. These unauthorized sets of plans are STOLEN!!! And some think they cam make 5 trikes from one set of stolen plans.
Yes you can make a copy but you MAY not if you read the licensing laws.
Yes you can make more than 1 trike from 1 licensed set of plans but you MAY not, again if you read the licensing laws.
Robert Q Riley's family are being ripped off of royalties.

I have been trying to contact the Robert Q Riley company about buying plans, but no response and online errors in ordering. How does one LEGALLY get plans for his creations? Or have they all died with him?
Thanks Jonathan
