Hi all
I am George I live in Northeast Kansas north of Kansas City and I will be turning 60 in February of this next year. There's been a lot going on in my life over the past few years that has been keeping me from doing a lot of things and I also have a lots of things that I'm interested in that also take me away from my design projects. One of one of my design projects is a reverse trike that I've been working on and off on for a number of years. My reverse trike design has gone through a number of iterations and a number of CAD programs as well as a few computers in that time. Currently I am using solid edge 2019 trial version which I like quite a bit. As it stands my reverse trike design is going to be a leaning version with my own designed on how to make it lean. One day when my finances are in better shape and I have a shop space I intend to actually bring my design out of the CAD program and into the real world.
I enjoy exploring the Internet and finding about what other people are doing in the realms of reverse trike. That includes everything from daydreaming about them, designing them, building them and I've also watched a few videos on people driving them.
I also appreciate the people who design these forums for people like me to garner information from others who are like-minded. So thank you to the people who created this forum. George

Welcome to the forum George we are all here for the same reason, to help inspire your ideas. As somebody once said: don't wait for Sleep to dream and make your dreams a reality. Please post some of your ideas we would love to see him, good luck!

George, welcome to this forum. We have been on another forum for many years but that forums "Originator" had moved on and does not come on and we can not edit how the site is set up. So James set up this one and he goes by "Administrator". I too am one of the 2 Administrators. We are here to help any way we can.
There are many forums and even Yahoo, Google and Facebook pages that have information. I will not bash any of them, they are just another tool in the toolbox to use.
The thing that makes a forum better, in my opinion, is when you post here, it becomes chronological order of record that will not easily disappear hourly. The Facebook "Reverse Trike Owners and Builders" page, your post can be dropped down in an hour of others posting. Its hard to search for information on that format.

Thank you for the greetings and well wishes.
I do not know if you have heard of the DiamondBack Leaning Trike or not but I am designing something like an electric version of their second generation trike with my own design for the leaning mechanism.
It is what I am shooting for and you can see both of their machines in this video on Youtube.
I am hoping the link works.
When I do get to the point of building my machine I would like to have a 100Kw electric motor in it and a large ultra compacitor bank in it in place of a battery pack.

One thing I have not found on this forum yet and that is articles ao posts on frame and suspension materials and sizes.
If there are articles about frames and suspensions would someone please point me in their direction.
I will probably need the math that goes with sizing of material for the frame and suspension parts.

We have not been able to transfer builds from there to here. You will not be able to join that forum but you can view all pages. Many good builds over there. Just a few to look at but not the only ones, Captain America, Liteway, isaiahcrem, Joe and stretchmobileski.
I have not looked into Capacitor banks to store power for a long range trike. I've used them to power small circuits and as power spike or ripple pluse buffers for high end Audio equipment. My thought is that they would want to bleed off too fast even using Gates (Nand/OR/NOT), Transistors, chokes and resistor banks.

Thank You for the information.
I came here through that site and will spend some time there over the next few weeks to garner more information.
Ultra capicitors linked with a small battery pack will get me to where I would want to go with a machine in part because it will be plugged in when I am home.
There are people on Youtube who have completely done away with their car battery using ultra capicitors so the technology is there for using them in larger systems.
I ahve also developed a few systems for charging the system on the fly that I intend to incorperate into the system.
There is a possibility that I will also be using bent and laminated bamboo wraped in kevlar and carbon fiber in the frame of my trike.
But I am going to have to do some more research on how it will stand up to the kinds of stresses my machine will be putting on it.
